| Check Out These Advanced Features: |
| • |
Large Capacity: Won't restrict pressure
or flow, unlike cheap home club or hard ware store systems. |
| • |
Fully Automatic: System automatically
backwashes, no filters to change. |
| • |
Low Maintenance: Potassium Permanganate
easily adds to solution tank. |
|
| How Do I Know What Size I Need? |
| If the filter system is to be installed
prior to entry to the home or other structure, pick a system with a pipe
size that is not less than the pipe size of your water service (at the shut-off
to your house), OR compute the peak gallons per minute required and use
an iron filter that provides at least this peak flow. For instance, one
shower typically requires 2 to 5 gallons per minute, one washing machine
2 to 4 gallons per minute, etc. Add these up to arrive at the peak flow
rate. |
| Prices, Sizes and Specifications: |
| Removes
Iron Levels .2 ppm to 15 ppm |
| Removes
Manganese Levels .04 to 2.0 ppm |
| Pressure Loss:
5 to 15 psi at Service Flow Rates; 10 to 25 psi at Peak Flow Rates |
| Maximum Pressure
Allowed: 125 psi Minimum Pressure Required: 30 psi |
| Voltage:
115v 60hz is standard. 24v 60hz, 230v 60 hz and 230v 50hz also available. |
| Technical
Notes: These systems do not work very well on acidic water. Acidity
can be expressed in terms of pH. The pH scale tells us how acidic or alkaline
water is; 7.0 is considered neutral, less than 7.0 acidic, and over 7.0
more alkaline. These systems work best when the pH is from 7.0 to 8.5. For
the most accurate results: test the pH, on site, using pH strips from our
Private Water System Designer Kit, or
by using a pH meter, to verify accurate pH. Samples taken to a lab and not
tested within 1 hour for pH, can give false higher pH results. |
| If pH
is 6.8 or below, raise pH by installing a soda ash injection feed
system or a neutralizing filter system before the Greensand Iron Filter.
See our Automatic Neutralizers Catalog Section. |
