| "Calcite Media"
- These filters contain 100% calcite and will neutralize
waters from a pH of 6.0 to 6.9 to a pH of 7.0 to 7.4. Depending on
the pH, alkalinity and service flow rate, additional calcite filter
media will need to be added periodically to replenish the filter bed.
Typically, more calcite mineral is added once a year for the typical
home, but more frequent service may be required. |

- Filter tank is NSF certified one piece seamless polyester
construction for long life. |
| "Day-timer Control
Valve" - The control valve automatically backwashes
and cleans the neutralizer filter media based on a 12-day cycle (can
be set to regenerate every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 12 days), at an adjustable
preset time, typically 2am. The day-timer style is often the best
choice among the control valve options, as it the simplest, least
complicated, and most reliable. Furthermore, in some applications
it is a good idea to backwash the filter every four to six days, regardless
of water use, to keep the filter media fresh and to avoid cementing
or solidification of media bed. A metered control valve (see below)
which counts the gallons and backwashes based on use, may not afford
regular backwash frequencies, if water usage is light or erratic. |
