Four Easy Steps to Test your Water Pressure
1. Make sure no water is being used.
2. Affix pressure gauge with hose-bib adapter to outside hose bib faucet or laundy sink faucet. (These pressure gauges are available from AWS or your local hardware store).
3. Turn on hose bib or faucet and note pressure in
  lbs per square inch, (PSI).
4. sample as close to pressure tank as possible, or collect sample from cold water faucet before any filters or water treatment system. Run water for at least 10 minutes from well to get accurate sample.
Note: 2.2 feet of elevation equals 1 psi. If your pump produces 40 psi and is 10 ft lower than the house then you would have approximately 33 psi in the house.
